STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT II|
Fight More of the Greatest Star Wars Battles Any Way You Want
Star Wars Battlefront II takes the best-selling Star Wars video game of all time one step further with all-new space combat, playable Jedi, and never-before-seen environments straight out of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
Fans of the original Star Wars Battlefront will enjoy an all-new single-player experience that takes you through an epic, story-based saga where every action you take impacts the battlefront and, ultimately, the fate of the galaxy. With open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films, the compelling storyline spans 16 new locations, many from Episode III, including the space battle above Coruscant. Classic movie moments complete the experience, as you battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia's blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope.
For the first time ever, you can engage in space combat and, during the same battle, board enemy ships to attack from within. Starting inside a capital ship, enter the starcraft of your choice and travel into space to dogfight with the rival faction. From there, dock within the enemy's capital ship, overtake the ship's command posts, man its turrets to disable its shields and destroy it from within! Or simply stay inside your own capital ship and defend it from attacks and enemy fire. The choice is yours.
The stellar online play that marked the original Battlefront returns even bigger and better for Battlefront II. Players can locate their buddies and track their stats as they battle alongside more players than ever (up to 24 on PS2, 32 on Xbox, 64 on Windows).
| Five classes, one additional bonus class and specialized hero characters for each of the four factions: Rebels, Imperials, CIS and Clone Troopers. More than 30 diverse ground and air vehicles, including many from Episode III such as the clone BARC speeder, new Jedi starfighter and V-wing. New Space Battles - Dogfight in X-wings, TIE fighters, Jedi starfighters and several other starcraft, or fight it out on foot aboard an enemy capital ship.|
| Throw a Lightsaber - For all the skill of the Jedi, the lightsaber is a close-proximity weapon. The user must bring themselves close to the battle and into harm's way before damage can be done. In Battlefront II, different heroes have different methods of dealing with out-of-reach foes, like Sith lightning, rocket missiles or energy discharges. But when you play as Mace Windu, Anakin or Luke Skywalker, you can hurl your lightsaber forward like a boomerang of light that slices in half everything in its way. At its apex, the lightsaber turns itself around and returns to your hand, slicing in half everything on the way back to you... even taking a second swipe at your target, if they are so unfortunate as to still be standing in the same spot. Remember your first viewing of Revenge of the Sith, when Yoda was fighting the clones and suddenly a green flash of light flew from the Jedi Master's hand toward a clone, then one second later the little hero was retrieving his blade that had stuck itself into a clone's chest, and the audience let out a collective delayed-reaction, "Whoa!", as they realized what Yoda had just done? This is just like that.|
| 20 New Battlefronts, including Felucia - The red-hot appeal of Mustafar is obvious, and other Episode III locations included in the game like Utapau, Mygeeto and Polis Massa all have a special freshness. However, if there was a way to measure intrigue-per-second-of-screen-time, Felucia would arguably beat of all of its Episode III counterparts; The planet is easily the least Earth-based of all the Star Wars locales. The intrigue surrounding the lithe blue Twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura is equally strong. Star Wars comic readers have seen what she can do in action, but her on-screen cameos didn't tap her action potential. Put this all together in Battlefront II, and you get the satisfying experience of a deadly double-sabered Aayla causing serious carnage in misty eerie corners of the translucent Felucia jungle. Indigenous Species Hunt Mode - where shooting Jawas, Gungans, Ewoks and more is the sole objective. Be an Ewok - Yeah.|
This is for the Xbox, the game is also available on PC CD.
Developed by the critically-acclaimed Pandemic Studios, creators of The Saboteur, Lord of the Rings: Conquest, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars Republic Commando, Star Wars Battlefront and Dark Reign 2. Star Wars Battlefront is the best-selling Star Wars game of all time.
